-Currently it half-way boots to the SSD, in that it uses the cloned Windows Boot Manager partition on my SSD, but boots to my original C: drive. I'd really rather not take10 minutes to boot.
Solution: use Macrium Reflect bootable disc, go to restore > fix Windows Boot problem, it auto fix the boot manager. Remind next time after clone, boot the cloned disk alone without original source disk, connect after 1st boot.

One way to "fix" this is to boot Windows from your old SSD again and run the command: sc.exe config stornvme start= boot This will activate the Windows' built-in NVMe driver during the early boot phase. Once that's done, re-clone the system to the new SSD. (Note that rebooting may cause Windows to deactivate the driver again.) Starting late in 2011, manufacturers shifted rapidly from BIOS to the newer EFI/UEFI (described next), but most EFIs include a feature called the Compatibility Support Module (CSM), which enables these computers to boot in the BIOS way (aka "legacy mode").
Everything went fine (it took 3 hours), the SSD had every single file from the hard drive and the computer automatically shut down 20s after the cloning completion. I then disconnected the HDD.
